In all my incarnations as a cat owner, I never gave much thought to cat food. Growing up, we fed Rainbow 9 Lives or whatever else she liked that was on sale. Jack’s vet recommended Wellness when we got him, and since he had so many health issues, we were never tempted to switch. But for those of you with cats without special needs might be interested in a new company called Tambey’s Kitchen.

Run by a girl I went to high school with, Tambey’s Kitchen features homemade, organic (when possible) cat food for purchase and delivery. Ingredients include “hormone-free, free range ground turkey, organic rolled oats, organic broccoli, organic sweet potatoes, organic carrots, organic eggs, organic sweet cream butter, nutritional yeast, soy lecithin, eggshell powder, organic kelp powder, taurine, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin C. ( And lots of love. )”

While I’d never have the time, energy, or skill to make my own cat food, it’s nice that the option is out there for any of my future feline friends. Also, I like supporting businesses based around cats (see Tambey himself below, and please note his different-colored eyes!)
