You might remember Cheyenne Cherry.
She decided to mess with a former friend by stuffing that friend’s cat in an oven and killing her.
Now Cheyenne has finally been sentenced. Two years in jail. Not owning a pet for three years. Somehow, this doesn’t seem harsh enough. I’m okay with that amount of jail time, I suppose, but not owning a pet for three years? How about forever? What’s going to happen in the next three years that would make this girl worthy of having an animal in her life?

This is a cat who has been affectionately nicknamed Sticky, and this picture of her makes me cry.
And if somehow it doesn’t also make you cry, you might want to watch the below video, where you can see that Sticky is a sweet, gentle cat who just wants attention. The fact that someone did this to her is completely, totally horrifying.

This is Tiger Lily.
This is Cheyenne Cherry.
Cheyenne recently pled guilty to animal cruelty and burglary in the death of Tiger Lily. She and a friend broke into her former roommate’s apartment, where the friend put Tiger Lily into the oven and turned it up to 500. The pair then escaped so they wouldn’t have to hear Tiger Lily meowing and scratching, in pain and desperate to escape.
At court, Cheyenne told an animal rights activist “It’s dead, bitch.” She’ll most likely receive a year in jail and has been ordered not to have a pet for at least three years.
I always struggle with whether or not to post stories of animal cruelty here on world wide whiskers. Nearly every day I read a story in which a cat is the victim. It’s horrifying and disgusting, and it makes you wonder who around you is capable of such an awful thing. Not that such a thing is necessarily enforceable, but this girl should be ordered not to have a pet for life, because a year in jail is not going to change the attitude that let her allow this poor cat to die.

It may seem awful, but these cats are safe–for now. They’ve been rescued by China Small Animal Protection Association from a Tianjin market that trade cats for meat and fur. There have been protests in China this week over the cruel treatment of cats (and dogs). China has NO animal protection laws, and so traders–who may be connected to the mafia–can do pretty much whatever they want to these poor animals.
While this is all pretty chilling, it was this part that made me tear up:
“Hanging on a hook from its head — with its snout cut cleanly off — was a skinned dog with a long curly tail, paws with small clumps of fur still on them and black claws. The dog’s jaw bone was displayed in a metal tray beneath the carcass.”

Does this woman look like a cat killer to you?
That’s Dale Bozzio, former Playboy Bunny and lead singer of the 80s band Missing Persons. Earlier this week, she was accused of animal cruelty and neglect after more than ten cats were found alone in her home. Some were fine, some were sick, and some were dead. Check out this video to hear her bizarre excuse.
No single home should have more than ten cats (or ten kids, for that matter). I wish I could believe she wasn’t neglecting her animals, but unfortunately things don’t look good for the bunny right now.
